Math: In our number sense unit we have represented and compared numbers to 1000. Then we moved on to 3 digit addition with and without regrouping. After that we practiced rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred to help us estimate answers to addition problems. The reason we do this is so we can check to see if our real answer is reasonable. To help us learn how to round, we listened to the following songs. We are now moving on to 3 digit subtraction with and without regrouping.

Language: We finished a unit on paragraph writing. This week we are focusing on reading comprehension and reading responses. We are reading short texts and then using learned strategies to answer multiple choice questions and short answer questions about the text.

Science: Our forces and movement unit is coming to an end. This week the students have planned and constructed devices to slow a moving object. We will test these devices and discuss how the design helped to slow the object. We will also reflect upon how the designs could be improved for next time.

Here we are building, testing, and making adjustments to the design before our real drops!
